• Visit Fremont Lake

Located right in the backyard of Pinedale is Fremont Lake, the 2nd largest body of water in the state of Wyoming and the 7th deepest in the country. The lake holds fun activities all year round including swimming and boating in the warmer months and ice fishing in the colder.

  • Cruise Skyline Drive

One of our favorite drives in the county is Skyline Drive above Fremont Lake. Leaving Pinedale the road weaves its way up and around Fremont Lake with stunning views all around. At around 9,500ft the road dead-ends at a parking lot with trailhead options for hikers of all skill levels.

  • Hike Sacred Rim Trail

As far as hiking goes, Pinedale has it all. One of our favorite hikes is the Sacred Rim Trail located at the end of Skyline Drive in Elkhart Park. With relatively little elevation gain, this hike offers mountain vistas while strolling through forests of pine trees, bubbling creeks and small grass covered meadows. The trail ends at a cliff face that faces the Wind River Range with spectacular views of the alpine lakes and mountain peaks. You won’t find this hike on your average trail map and the locals like to keep it a secret. Ask us for tips on how to get to the hike!

  • Drive to Soda Lake

This is the drive that convinced our family to move to Pinedale. Traveling out of Pinedale the paved road quickly turns into a dirt path that is surrounded by curious cattle and free range horses. Soda Lake is a smaller lake with a stunning view of the snow capped peaks in the distance. Great option for a quick and easy drive with good views.

  • Ski White Pine

Pinedale is home to the White Pine Ski Resort located just a 15 minute drive north of town. White Pine is the perfect option for families with little ones and those who want to avoid the expensive resorts in Jackson Hole. You can rent equipment at the resort if you don’t have your own.

  • Snowmobile and ATV Adventures

Pinedale has a few places where you can rent machines for your winter or summer off-road adventures. Some places offer guided excursions as well. Ask us for a recommendation on which company to go with.

  • Fat Tire Biking & Cross Country Skiing

The hills and mountains around Pinedale have miles of groomed trails for Fat Tire Biking and Skiing. If offtrail is more your style, the mountains have plenty of options for snowshoeing.
